Hi there

I have a web developer (based in India) who is trying to make my navigation appear on the cart.php and the checkout.php pages you know what I mean when you buy something it takes you to the cart.php I would like my navigation to appear on both sides of both cart.php and also checkout.php I have seen this done on may x-cart sites but I can't seem to find out how it is done and it seems my India based web developers are not too up on this either.

Somebody asked me why i would like this done and the answer to that is because the cart.php page looks so bare without the navigation at either side of the cart.php page I would prefer it more so on cart.php that on checkoput.php

Any help would be most appreciated

The reason the navigation disappears is for conversion. If you buy something at Amazon.com for example, you'll notice it is very difficult to get OUT of the checkout process once you are in. Barren is good, less distractions for the customer, less chance they will leave checkout.

As for adding it back in, really need to know what version you are using. Please update your forum signature with your X-Cart version per the forum guidelines. Thanks!

You need to put your version in your signature so people can give you the right answers.
And if you are using 4.1 - are you using the Fast Lane Checkout?

Hi there

Not sure what you mean about fast checkout (if you can let me know how to find that out it would be helpful) I have updated my signature to read and inform you that I am using version 4.1.5. and I don't know where to find out about fast checkout. As far as I am aware right now this company use an ssl certificate to process the orders and they then input the customers details into their credit clearing machine obviously using the CNP which is customer not present.

I am in the middle of setting up a merchant account with them.

I can't really show you this cart or website as it is of an adult toys nature and I would not like to offend anybody.

This job came to me form a third party and to be honest am not that up on x-cart as always used other shopping cart software which I was well versed in but it seems for this and a few other jobs I have going on that I am having to get used to x-cart so please forgive my ignorance

You need to edit skin1/modules/Fast_Lane_Checkout/home.tpl.

You can implement code from skin1/customer/home.tpl to recreate the site navigation, etc.

I would like to see the navigation in the checkout process as well on x-cart 5.1.11. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Could you please explain a little bit about what kind of navigation you would like to see in 5.1.11?
I mean, we have the whole checkout process on a single page and there are no steps, so I am a bit uncertain about what should be changed there.
