- Autoresponder emails: We'd like to use an email tool like mailchimp to send out automated emails based on a sale, registration only or general email list signup. How would this work? Is it possible to have a different email stream depending on which type of the above?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your queries.

Field mapping: By default, first name, last name are mapped. If you want to map the address & membership type, yes. We can do this for you with bit more changes in code. Please order the module along with installation services & we can add these fields and give it to you.

Auto Responders: Your query is not much clear. Anyway, i try to answer little bit more with two contexts.

1) Auto responders based on the list: Basically mailchimp does support to respond via auto respond feature per list. If there are three lists, each list will have its own auto responder message.

How can we achieve this?

Without any code changes: Create different newsletter lists in X-Cart & Mailchimp, map them. when the customer subscribes to that particular list, they will be added to the related mailchimp list, receives the corresponding autoresponder.

With code changes/Customization: Create 3/4 lists in mailchimp like premier (order cost ranging from 1000-2000$), gold (order cost ranging from 500-1000$). We can alter the code of our module based on the order total, we can push the customer to particular email list. Auto responder will be triggered based on the list.

2) Auto responders based on purchase date: Create two lists (Recent customers/Old customers) in mailchimp & set a date example 01 Aug 2010 (this is called 'trigger date' in mailchimp for each auto responder). The idea/tweak here is "whenever a customer is making the purchase, they can be put it to particular list. Mailchimp will take care of rest based on the date you set, it will trigger automatically the auto responders". In this case, if you set the trigger after 01 Aug 2010, all the persons who placed into that particular list after 01 Aug 2010 will receive auto responders. If you set the trigger before 01 Aug 2010, all the customers placed into that particular list before 01 Aug 2010 will receive auto responder. This is quite handy to manage holidays sale with discounts at certain intervals.

Please note that it works with "douple opt-in" & you need to meet 'auto responder eligibility criteria'.

Definitely, few things are possible with tricky solutions & bit more code changes. Please contact our sales team at sales@mercuryminds.com. We can certainly help you.
